Bharwan bhindi (Lady Fingers) Punjabi Dish

Bharwan bhindi, punjabi dish, punjabi recipe
Ingredients:
  • 500 grams of lady's finger (okra)
  • 1 tbsp of red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp of coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp of cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp of dry mango powder (Amchoor powder)
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp of oil
  • 4 medium sized onions, finely chopped 
 Method:
  • Wash & dry tender lady's finger.Cut the head & slit open halfway through lady's finger.
  • For the filling: In a bowl mix red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, dry mango powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  • Stuff mixture in the lady's finger & set the nonstick pan on medium heat.
  • Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add onions and cook for half a minute. Add stuffed lady's finger and mix well. Cover the pan with lid and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Add the rest of the dry masala when lady's finger are almost cooked.
